Role Overview
You will act as a dedicated travel advisor for Norwegian-speaking clients exploring Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda, managing trips from first enquiry to post-return follow-up. Your work keeps the sales pipeline moving and ensures every guest feels supported before, during, and after their safari. On a typical day, you will balance live chats, payment chasing, itinerary adjustments, and supplier coordination — all while maintaining the personal touch that builds lasting customer loyalty.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle inbound client inquiries and booking requests across WhatsApp, phone, and email, responding quickly and helpfully to secure reservations.
- Design custom East African safari itineraries that match the client's interests, group size, travel dates, and budget — including park choices, lodge stays, and internal flights.
- Prepare accurate invoices, share payment reminders, and keep a clear record of each booking's financial status.
- Manage changes and cancellations after booking, arranging alternative accommodation or logistics when plans shift.
- Act as the first point of contact for clients on the ground, solving problems like missed transfers or weather disruptions with calm, practical solutions.
- Contribute directly to weekly and monthly sales targets by upselling add-ons such as balloon safaris, private guides, or extended beach stays.
- Keep internal systems up to date with client notes, booking statuses, and payment confirmations to support the wider team.
Requirements & Qualifications
- A diploma or degree in hospitality, tourism, travel management, or a related field.
- Native-level fluency in Norwegian — both written and spoken — with the ability to communicate nuanced travel recommendations clearly.
- At least two years of professional experience in tour consulting, safari sales, or hotel reservations, specifically selling Kenya and neighbouring East African destinations.
- Hands-on knowledge of Tanzania and Uganda itineraries, including major national parks, seasonal migration patterns, and typical lodge standards.
- Excellent written communication for drafting polished emails, WhatsApp messages, and trip documents that put clients at ease.
- Strong time management and attention to detail, especially when juggling multiple clients, deposits, and final payment deadlines.
- Willingness to work flexible hours when needed, such as late evenings or weekends, to support travellers during their trips.
