Role Overview
As a Waiter, you will guide guests through their dining experience, from greeting them and explaining menu choices to serving their orders and settling their bills. Your attentive, accurate service will help the restaurant maintain a polished standard while ensuring guests feel welcomed and their needs are handled promptly.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome guests, respond to questions and requests, and provide clear information about menu items and specials.
- Take food and beverage orders accurately and communicate them to kitchen and bar teams.
- Serve meals and drinks promptly, checking that orders are correct and guests are satisfied.
- Recommend suitable dishes and beverages, and introduce additional items in a courteous, helpful way.
- Set and maintain tables, service stations, equipment, and dining areas to a clean, organised standard.
- Prepare guest checks, process payments accurately, and assist with restaurant opening and closing tasks.
- Work closely with colleagues to manage order flow and support smooth service during busy periods.
- Handle guest concerns professionally, refer issues to a manager when needed, and share feedback that may improve service.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Certificate or diploma in hospitality management, food and beverage service, or a related discipline.
- At least two years of waiter or comparable food-service experience in a busy, high-end restaurant.
- Ability to use hotel management software.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-focused approach.
- Professional conduct, integrity, and consistently well-groomed presentation.
- Sound judgement and problem-solving skills, with flexibility to work shifts.
