Job Description

Role Overview

You will take charge of the daily flow of finished goods and raw materials across a warehouse and distribution environment, making sure the right products are available at the right time for production and customers. This is a hands-on coordination and supervision role: you will oversee stock movements, reconcile records, direct warehouse staff, and maintain the documentation and control points that keep the operation audit-ready. Your work directly protects inventory integrity, supports service levels, and reduces operational risk in every stage of the logistics cycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, supervise, and coordinate inbound receipts, put-away, picking, packing, and dispatch activities to keep goods moving through the warehouse without disruption.
  • Maintain high inventory accuracy by performing cycle counts, investigating discrepancies, and reconciling physical stock against ERP records, especially within Odoo.
  • Verify that all warehouse and logistics transactions are properly authorized, documented, and traceable from receipt to final dispatch, ensuring a complete audit trail.
  • Enforce food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards across daily operations, including temperature checks, pest control observations, and correct handling practices.
  • Lead and assign tasks for warehouse and logistics teams, checking performance against turnaround targets and coaching staff on correct procedures and compliance requirements.
  • Identify bottlenecks, near-misses, and control weaknesses in warehouse workflows, then implement corrective actions or process improvements to prevent recurrence.
  • Prepare and maintain inventory, stock movement, and dispatch reports using Microsoft Excel, presenting accurate data to support management decision-making.
  • Liaise with suppliers, internal production planners, and customer service teams to ensure order priorities are understood and delivery schedules are met.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • A diploma or recognized certificate in inventory management, logistics, supply chain, warehousing, business administration, or another supply-chain-related discipline.
  • At least 5 years of practical experience in warehouse operations, inventory control, stock management, logistics processes, or supply chain best practices.
  • Minimum 2 years in a team-leading or supervisory role where you directed daily tasks and held others accountable for results.
  • Hands-on experience with an ERP system, ideally Odoo, plus strong Microsoft Excel skills for stock reconciliation, transaction tracking, and reporting.
  • A clear understanding of internal controls, stock accountability, audit requirements, and inventory governance, with a habit of keeping accurate and complete records.
  • Working knowledge of food safety, hygiene, quality, and occupational health & safety requirements, and the ability to apply these rules consistently in a distribution setting.
  • High attention to detail, with the precision needed to verify, authorize, process, and document warehouse transactions without errors.
  • Strong communication, numeracy, and organizational skills, allowing you to manage shifting priorities and multiple deadlines while maintaining process discipline.
  • A valid forklift, reach truck, or narrow aisle truck license is an added advantage.
