Role Overview
This position sits at the centre of day-to-day delivery for a business team, helping turn plans into tracked actions. The person in the role gathers and makes sense of information, prepares clear updates for managers, and works alongside colleagues from different functions so projects stay on schedule and decisions are backed by evidence. Their work matters because it keeps initiatives moving, highlights risks early, and gives leaders reliable insight into performance and market conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Help shape project plans by mapping tasks, timelines, owners, and checkpoints, then keep those plans current as priorities shift.
- Run assigned workstreams and keep supervisors informed through concise progress notes, status updates, and escalation of blockers.
- Pull together data from relevant sources, check it for accuracy, and turn it into findings that support commercial or operational choices.
- Draft reports, slide decks, and recommendations that explain project results, trends, and proposed next steps to internal audiences.
- Coordinate with marketing, sales, supply chain, and other teams to align actions, share information, and remove delivery roadblocks.
- Contribute to process reviews and improvement efforts by identifying bottlenecks, documenting current steps, and suggesting practical fixes.
- Carry out research into market movements, shopper or consumer behaviour, competitor activity, and supply chain topics when projects require it.
- Track milestones and deadlines, follow company policies, procedures, and health and safety rules, and take on additional project duties as directed by the supervisor.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Management, Commerce, Economics, Statistics, or a closely related discipline.
- Internship, industrial attachment, leadership role, or project experience is an advantage, as is a track record of seeing academic or extracurricular projects through to completion.
- Working grasp of marketing, sales, and general business principles, with awareness of how FMCG markets operate.
- Understanding of project management basics, common business processes, and how data analysis and reporting support decision-making.
- Comfort using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook to organise information, build reports, and communicate with stakeholders.
- Ability to analyse and interpret data, spot patterns, and translate findings into clear, actionable insights.
- Strong problem-solving mindset and the confidence to ask questions, test assumptions, and propose solutions.
- Basic coordination and project management skills, including planning, prioritisation, and follow-through.
- Familiarity with business systems and digital collaboration tools is a plus.
- Professional written and verbal communication skills for preparing reports and presentations.
