Role Overview
This internship places you inside the day-to-day financial operations of a working organisation, where you will support the accounts team with data processing, record keeping, and routine reporting. You will gain practical insight into how business decisions rely on accurate financial information, and your contributions will help keep processes running smoothly while you develop professional judgement.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with capturing and recording financial transactions in accounting software and spreadsheets.
- Prepare and organise supporting documents for invoices, payments, and expense claims.
- Reconcile bank statements and assist with month-end closing procedures.
- Help draft financial reports, budgets, and variance summaries for review by senior staff.
- Support internal and external audits by retrieving records and compiling requested information.
- Maintain accurate and confidential files for financial and administrative records.
- Respond to routine financial queries from colleagues or external contacts in a professional manner.
- Collaborate with other departments on data collection and process improvement tasks.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Current enrolment in or completion of a Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a business-related field from a recognised institution.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including confidence in presenting financial information clearly.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, and a high level of digital literacy.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in all financial documentation.
- Demonstrated integrity, honesty, and discretion when handling sensitive information.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision while also being a cooperative team player.
- Adaptable and resilient, with a willingness to adjust working hours or travel occasionally when operational needs require it.
- A proactive attitude focused on delivering results, learning quickly, and taking ownership of assigned responsibilities.
