Job Description

Role Overview

As an Accounts Intern, you will work closely with our finance team to support the daily accounting operations that keep our organisation running smoothly. Your day-to-day work will involve preparing financial documents, processing transactions, and helping to ensure records are accurate and up to date. This role matters because reliable financial data underpins every strategic decision we make, and your contributions will directly support the team's ability to plan, report, and remain accountable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with data entry and maintenance of financial records, ledgers, and journals.
  • Support accounts payable and receivable functions, including invoice processing and payment follow-ups.
  • Help prepare financial reports, spreadsheets, and reconciliations under the guidance of senior accountants.
  • Organise and maintain documentation for audits, ensuring all files are complete and easy to retrieve.
  • Participate in monthly closing activities and verify the accuracy of transaction details.
  • Collaborate with other departments to gather financial information and clarify discrepancies.
  • Contribute to process improvement by identifying repetitive tasks that can be streamlined or automated.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field from a recognised institution.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information clearly.
  • Proficiency with standard computer applications and accounting software; a high level of comfort with digital tools is essential.
  • Well-organised, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple tasks while meeting deadlines.
  • Proactive and results-driven, with a genuine willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
  • Demonstrates integrity, discretion, and respect for confidentiality when handling sensitive financial data.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision, while also contributing effectively as a team player.
  • Flexible in terms of working hours, with occasional availability for travel or after-hours support when required.

What We Offer / Why Join

This internship provides a structured introduction to how a real organisation manages its finances. You will receive direct mentorship from experienced professionals, gain hands-on exposure to core accounting operations, and have the opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects that influence business outcomes. Upon successful completion, you will receive a letter of recommendation, build valuable professional connections, and be considered for future opportunities within our organisation.
