Role Overview

As an Installer, you are the on-site professional who places, connects, and configures equipment so it is safe, functional, and ready for the customer to use. You test systems, explain operation and maintenance, and return for ongoing support or repairs when needed. This role matters because a careful installation protects people and property, improves equipment performance, and gives customers confidence in the service they receive.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate with dispatch on daily appointments, confirm job details, and wear required identification, safety gear, and courtesy equipment while on site.
• Move, stage, position, and connect equipment at customer premises, including routers, cabling, and related electrical components.
• Test electrical equipment and service systems to verify proper functioning, safe operation, and absence of hazards.
• Educate customers on the features, functionality, operation, and maintenance of installed products.
• Identify add-on sales products that fit the customer’s needs, explain their benefits, and support additional sales conversations.
• Guide, coordinate, and oversee fellow installers, and evaluate the quality and performance standards of sub-contractors within assigned infrastructure boundaries.
• Maintain installation tools and equipment in safe working order, and assist with parts, shipping, receiving, and inventory tasks as needed.
• Help remove and install materials at customer premises, review paperwork with customers, complete tasks within allotted time frames, and provide follow-up support, maintenance, or repairs.

Requirements & Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; a certificate, diploma, trade school program, or technical training course is preferred.
• Hands-on experience installing, adjusting, and troubleshooting internet equipment such as routers, cabling, and electrical systems.
• Familiarity with testing electrical equipment and ensuring safe, functional operation.
• Knowledge of installation tools, electrical safety practices, and maintenance procedures.
• Ability to evaluate and monitor sub-contractor performance and quality standards within set infrastructure boundaries.
• Physical readiness to work in strenuous conditions, crawl into small spaces, and complete installations in all climates.
• Strong customer communication skills for explaining equipment use, maintenance, and product benefits, plus the ability to manage appointments and finish work within scheduled time frames.
