Role Overview
This three-month internship places you at the front line of a fast-growing financial institution, where you will rotate through client acquisition, payment follow-ups, and account retention. You will spend your days speaking with customers, onboarding new accounts, resolving overdue balances, and strengthening relationships—turning everyday interactions into measurable business outcomes. By the end of the programme, you will have a realistic grasp of how a lending or credit business operates and a track record that supports a permanent role.
Key Responsibilities
- Reach out to new and prospective customers to introduce financial products and walk them through the onboarding process.
- Maintain a pipeline of leads, follow up consistently, and convert qualified prospects into active clients.
- Contact existing clients to monitor repayment behaviour, remind them of due dates, and resolve payment issues early.
- Work on recovery cases by negotiating payment plans, documenting promises to pay, and escalating where necessary.
- Identify at-risk accounts and initiate retention conversations to prevent churn or early exit.
- Log all customer interactions accurately in the company’s system and report daily progress to your mentor.
- Support relationship-building initiatives such as check-in calls, satisfaction surveys, and product education sessions.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Recent graduate or final-year student in business, finance, sales, or a related discipline.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Kiswahili, with a confident phone manner.
- Basic numeracy and familiarity with Excel or Google Sheets for tracking customer data and payment records.
- Resilience and persistence, especially when handling objections, late payments, or difficult conversations.
- Ability to work independently, meet weekly targets, and follow structured processes without close supervision.
- Interest in sales, credit management, or customer success as a long-term career path.
