Role Overview
This position is responsible for driving sales performance and distribution coverage across an assigned territory by leading a field-based sales team. You will spend the majority of your time in the market, coaching representatives, auditing execution, and solving problems on the spot so that targets are met and company standards are upheld. The role is critical to maintaining strong retail relationships, ensuring product availability, and translating strategy into daily field actions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the field team to hit sales, distribution, and activation goals for the region, adjusting plans as needed to stay on track.
- Conduct regular market visits to observe performance, provide hands-on coaching, and verify that merchandising and promotional activities meet expectations.
- Prepare and submit accurate daily, weekly, and monthly reports on sales, coverage, and field activities using required tools.
- Act as the first point of contact for customer and outlet issues within the territory, resolving complaints quickly or escalating when necessary.
- Work with warehouse, logistics, and sales support teams to monitor stock levels and coordinate timely replenishment to prevent out-of-stocks.
- Ensure that all field operations follow company policies, trade terms, and operational guidelines, taking corrective action when gaps are found.
- Analyze local market data and competitor activity to identify opportunities and threats, sharing insights with management.
- Train and onboard new sales representatives on routes, reporting tools, and service standards.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Diploma or bachelor's degree in business, sales, marketing, or a related discipline.
- At least two years of experience in a sales role or in supervising a field team; prior FMCG or general trade exposure is beneficial.
- Strong communication and people skills, with the ability to build rapport across diverse customers and team members.
- Analytical mindset with practical problem-solving skills to interpret sales data and address operational challenges.
- Comfortable working under pressure and consistently meeting or exceeding targets.
- Competent in using basic reporting tools such as spreadsheets and mobile sales applications.
- Willingness to travel frequently across the assigned region and spend significant time in the field.
- Solid understanding of local market conditions, including customer behavior and competitor activity.
- A valid driver's license is required.
