In this role, you will take responsibility for the full employee lifecycle, from sourcing and hiring through to exit management, while also guiding line managers on staff relations and legal compliance. Your oversight of disciplinary processes, performance reviews, and attendance systems ensures that the company maintains a disciplined, well-supported, and legally protected workforce across its branches.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end recruitment process, including creating job briefs, sourcing candidates, conducting interviews, verifying references, and coordinating offers, onboarding, and orientation.
  • Manage employee movement and record changes such as branch transfers, promotions, contract renewals, and clearances for departing staff.
  • Monitor daily attendance, clock-in registers, leave balances, and absenteeism patterns to keep accurate workforce data and identify problem areas.
  • Ensure compliance with Kenyan employment laws and regulations, including statutory deductions, hearing procedures, and workplace rights.
  • Run disciplinary proceedings and grievance resolution sessions with fairness, proper documentation, and alignment to internal policies.
  • Update and communicate HR policies, staff manuals, and internal communication channels across departments.
  • Coordinate performance appraisal cycles, support line managers in setting targets, and introduce Performance Improvement Plans where needed to close skill gaps.
  • Prepare HR reports covering headcount, turnover, leave usage, and training activity while keeping confidential personnel records safe.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or another relevant field.
  • At least three years of hands-on experience in a generalist HR management or advisory capacity.
  • CHRP(K) or CIPD certification is preferred.
  • Previous work in distribution, medical supplies, healthcare, or a multi-branch environment is an advantage.
  • Sound practical knowledge of Kenya’s labour laws, disciplinary frameworks, and statutory compliance requirements.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word, as well as HR information systems.
  • Confident leadership with strong conflict resolution and employee counselling abilities, paired with a high level of discretion and ethical judgment.
