Job Description

Position: HR Manager

Employment Nature: Full-time

Industry: Diversified / Multi-Company

Monthly Salary: Kshs. 40,000 – 50,000

Strategic Leadership Mandate

We are seeking a mature and highly experienced HR Manager to take full accountability for the human resource functions across our organization. This is a high-level role designed for a professional who has honed their skills within structured environments, such as government institutions, large corporates, or group companies. You will serve as a strategic partner to senior management, transforming business objectives into actionable workforce strategies. The ideal candidate will possess the gravitas to lead HR transformations, the technical depth to ensure absolute compliance with Kenyan labor laws, and the emotional intelligence to foster a cohesive organizational culture across potentially multiple entities.

Core Responsibilities

Strategic HR & Transformation

  • Architect and execute HR strategies that directly support the organization's long-term growth and operational stability.

  • Act as a senior advisor to the executive team on workforce planning, policy development, and organizational design.

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to modernize HR processes and improve overall service delivery.

  • Standardize HR policies across various business units while maintaining the flexibility to meet specific entity needs.

Talent & Performance Optimization

  • Oversee the end-to-end talent lifecycle, from sophisticated recruitment and selection to structured onboarding.

  • Design and manage robust performance management systems that drive productivity and recognize high achievement.

  • Identify critical skills gaps and implement targeted training and development programs to promote a culture of continuous learning.

  • Develop succession planning frameworks to ensure leadership continuity within the organization.

Operational Excellence & Compliance

  • Ensure 100% adherence to the Employment Act, labor regulations, and internal organizational policies.

  • Oversee payroll administration, benefits management, and the maintenance of impeccable HR records.

  • Manage complex employee relations issues, including conflict resolution, grievance handling, and disciplinary procedures with total confidentiality.

  • Lead employee welfare programs and ensure compensation structures remain internally equitable and externally competitive.

Data-Driven Reporting & Group Oversight

  • Coordinate HR analytics and reporting across the group structure to provide management with insights into turnover, engagement, and labor costs.

  • Act as the central point for HR policy enforcement, ensuring consistency across all locations and departments.

  • Manage the delicate balance of handling complex organizational dynamics in a mature and composed manner.

Requirements & Competencies

Professional Qualifications

  • Education: Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Experience: A minimum of 8 years of HR experience, with a significant portion spent in government, large-scale corporate, or group company environments.

  • Legal Knowledge: Mastery of Kenyan labor laws and contemporary HR best practices.

  • Added Advantage: Proven experience managing HR functions across multiple business units or a group structure.
