Role Overview
This field-based service role keeps customers’ water-treatment systems operating safely and reliably, from installation and commissioning through ongoing maintenance and repair. You will visit customer sites to diagnose equipment issues, restore performance and provide clear guidance, while recording work accurately and identifying follow-up service needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, commission, inspect, test and maintain water-treatment equipment and related systems at customer locations.
- Investigate faults methodically, determine their underlying causes and carry out appropriate repairs or corrective work.
- Check system operation after commissioning, maintenance or repair, and confirm that equipment is performing as expected.
- Respond to service requests within agreed timeframes and aim to resolve issues effectively on the first visit.
- Complete service and commissioning records, including findings, work undertaken, parts used, recommendations and customer acknowledgement.
- Record site activity in the company’s service-management and digital field-service systems, and provide customers with practical technical advice.
- Flag potential maintenance, repair, replacement or upgrade work, and coordinate assistants, subcontractors or other site personnel when needed.
- Look after assigned tools, test equipment, stock and vehicles, and follow applicable safety, environmental, warranty and technical procedures.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Diploma or higher diploma in Water, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent technical qualification from a recognised institution.
- At least three years of relevant experience installing, commissioning, maintaining and troubleshooting water-treatment plants.
- Practical fault-finding skills covering pumps, dosing equipment, filters, valves, control panels, instrumentation and associated systems.
- Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and control systems.
- Valid driving licence and willingness to travel extensively for field assignments.
- Professional, customer-focused approach; able to work reliably with limited supervision, communicate technical information clearly and collaborate with colleagues across service, sales and project teams.
- Sound safety practices and disciplined handling of tools, equipment and company resources.
- Experience with reverse osmosis, ultrafiltration, water softeners, filtration, chlorination or chemical dosing is an advantage. EPRA Electrical C1/C2 or Solar T2/T3 certification, or equivalent practical installation experience, is also beneficial.
