Remuneration: KES 130,000 – 160,000

Contract: 1 Year (Fixed Term) with extension possibility

Purpose of the Position

CEFA is seeking a dedicated Field Coordinator to lead the implementation of the "GROW" project, a multi-sectoral initiative aimed at improving climate resilience and water access in West Pokot. Under the supervision of the Project Manager, you will serve as the technical and operational anchor in the field. Your mission is to ensure that interventions in WASH, sustainable agriculture, and disaster risk reduction (DRR) are executed with technical excellence and high transparency. You will be instrumental in building the capacity of local partners and maintaining vital relationships with the Government of West Pokot County to ensure the long-term sustainability of these humanitarian and developmental efforts.

Key Responsibilities

Field Coordination & Technical Supervision

• Supervise daily operations of local staff, assigning tasks and fostering a collaborative team environment to meet project milestones.

• Ensure the technical quality and timely execution of WASH services, focusing on inclusive access for women, girls, and persons with disabilities.

• Oversee agricultural and pastoral livelihood interventions, including honey value chain support, fodder production, and dietary diversification.

• Coordinate the design and validation of training tools for capacity building in climate-smart practices and land management.

Monitoring, Evaluation & Compliance

• Develop and update the overall action plan, M&E framework, and indicator tracking tables to ensure data-driven decision-making.

• Systematically monitor compliance with AICS donor guidelines and CEFA management manuals to ensure absolute transparency.

• Support procurement and tender procedures, ensuring full adherence to Kenyan regulations and organizational policies.

• Prepare comprehensive narrative and financial reports, case studies, and field observations for internal and donor review.

Stakeholder Engagement & Partnerships

• Act as the project’s technical representative in working groups and meetings with local government authorities and technical agencies.

• Maintain a productive relationship with the implementing partner (Perur Rays of Hope), providing technical assistance to align strategies.

• Represent CEFA’s values in all interactions with the community, ensuring a positive and transparent organizational image.

Required Qualifications

Academic & Professional Background

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in International Cooperation, Engineering, Agriculture, or a related field.

• Experience: At least 5 years of experience as a Project or Technical Coordinator within the NGO sector, preferably in ASAL areas or emergency contexts.

• Technical Skills: Mastery of Project Cycle Management (PCM) and the Microsoft Office suite.

• Licensing: Possession of a valid Class A2 motorcycle license and a willingness to ride in remote rural terrains (highly valued).

• Analytical Thinking: Ability to synthesize complex information to resolve field-level bottlenecks.

• Team Leadership: Proven ability to motivate staff and manage diverse workloads under pressure.

• Communication: Excellent English proficiency; knowledge of the Pokot language is a significant advantage.

• Integrity: High attention to detail and a commitment to accountability in managing donor funds.
