Role Overview
This teaching role focuses on delivering the SABIS curriculum to students using a structured, point-based instructional system. Day to day, you will execute pre-designed lesson plans, administer assessments, and provide targeted support to help learners reach academic milestones. Your work directly supports the school’s mission to maintain high standards and foster a disciplined, achievement-oriented classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver lessons using provided pacing guides and lesson plans; occasionally develop your own plans based on departmental charts when needed.
- Grade exams and assignments according to the schedule and materials supplied by your subject department.
- Collaborate with the Academic Quality Controller and Head of Department to address student behaviour and performance concerns.
- Apply the SABIS point system to maintain a focused, orderly learning environment during class time.
- Invigilate examinations as required, ensuring a fair and properly supervised testing atmosphere.
- Identify and support struggling students through extra help and motivation to improve their academic outcomes.
- Prepare students for external exams by working through past papers and following the school’s revision schedule (when applicable to your grade level).
- Assist with school operations such as testing pupils, covering for absent colleagues, organising lunch and bus duties, directing traffic, and performing other administrative tasks assigned by school leadership.
- Plan and participate in student-life events including art showcases, open houses, and physical education activities in coordination with the student life coordinator.
- Attend training sessions requested by management to deepen your understanding of the SABIS system and enhance teaching effectiveness.
- Take on additional tasks or projects as delegated by the school management team.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject area or an equivalent qualification.
- Native or proficient English speaker, with fluency appropriate for the subject taught.
- Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) or a Master’s degree in Education is mandatory.
- Working knowledge of core Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with students, colleagues, and parents.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively within a team-oriented school setting.
