Role Overview
This teaching position centres on delivering the school’s established curriculum in a structured, supportive classroom environment. Day to day, you will implement prepared lesson plans, manage student behaviour through the school’s point-based system, and assess learners through regular exams. Your work directly supports the school’s mission of helping every student reach their academic potential, while also contributing to broader school life through supervision and student activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver lessons using the provided teaching plans, adjusting or creating plans from pacing charts when required for your subject and grade level.
- Administer and mark subject exams according to the department’s schedule and marking materials, ensuring timely and consistent evaluation.
- Apply the school’s point system consistently to keep classrooms focused and conducive to learning.
- Identify underperforming students and provide extra academic support and motivation to help them improve.
- Invigilate examinations as needed, maintaining a fair and properly managed testing environment.
- Prepare students for external exams by working through past papers within the structured revision timetable, where applicable to your grade.
- Support student life events such as art exhibitions, open houses, and physical education activities in coordination with the student life coordinator.
- Take on additional duties including covering for absent teachers, supervising students during lunch and bus transitions, managing vehicle and pedestrian traffic, and performing other administrative tasks assigned by school leadership.
- Participate in training sessions requested by management to deepen your understanding of the school’s system and improve your teaching performance.
Requirements & Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject area or an equivalent qualification.
- PGCE certification or a master’s degree in education is mandatory.
- Fluent English proficiency, with native speaker level required for certain subjects.
- Working knowledge of MS Office components for lesson preparation and administrative tasks.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with students, colleagues, and parents.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a teaching team and contribute to school-wide initiatives.
