ECDE Teacher

Role Overview

This teaching position focuses on creating a warm, secure classroom where young children can explore and grow. Day to day, you will deliver planned lessons that nurture each child’s thinking, social skills, emotions, physical abilities, and language, while tracking their individual progress and partnering with families. Your work directly supports the school’s mission to build a strong early learning foundation that prepares children for future academic and personal success.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement lesson plans that are both engaging and developmentally appropriate for early childhood learners.
• Maintain a classroom environment that is safe, inclusive, and encourages curiosity and positive social interaction.
• Monitor each learner’s development across cognitive, social, emotional, physical, and language domains, keeping detailed records of progress.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to share updates, discuss milestones, and coordinate support for the child’s growth.
• Participate actively in school meetings, special events, and extracurricular activities that enrich the school community.
• Keep the classroom well-organised, clean, and equipped with materials that support hands-on learning.
• Incorporate age-appropriate technology and digital resources into lessons to enhance engagement and early digital literacy.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Diploma or Certificate in Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) from a recognised institution.
• Registration with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) is considered an added advantage.
• At least two years of practical teaching experience in an ECDE setting is preferred.
• Strong classroom management skills combined with excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• A genuine passion for nurturing young children and supporting their holistic development.
• Familiarity with integrated school management systems and digital learning platforms.
