About the Role
As an Early Years Teacher, you will be responsible for creating a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for children aged 3–6 years. You will design and implement play-based learning activities that foster cognitive, social, emotional, and physical growth. You will also collaborate with fellow teachers, communicate regularly with parents, and contribute to the holistic development of each child.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver age-appropriate lessons that align with the school's curriculum and early childhood education best practices.
- Create a warm, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages exploration and curiosity.
- Observe, assess, and document each child's progress, and provide constructive feedback to parents and guardians.
- Implement positive behaviour guidance strategies and promote social skills, independence, and empathy.
- Organise and supervise play, creative arts, music, and outdoor activities.
- Collaborate with teaching assistants and other staff to ensure a cohesive learning experience.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development sessions, and school events.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe classroom in line with health and safety policies.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field (a Diploma with significant experience may be considered).
- Certification: Valid teaching certification or licensure for early years (e.g., ECDE, Montessori, or equivalent).
- Experience: Minimum of 2–3 years teaching in an early years setting (preschool or kindergarten).
- Proven ability to design and implement play-based and child-centred learning approaches.
