Position Summary

Talent Grid Africa is seeking a high-caliber Digital Marketing Manager on behalf of a leading retail client. This is a senior leadership mandate designed for a visionary marketer who can bridge the gap between creative storytelling and analytical performance. You will be responsible for architecting a comprehensive marketing roadmap that accelerates customer acquisition while deepening the loyalty of the existing base. This role demands a leader who is equally comfortable steering high-level strategy as they are diving into the technical nuances of SEO, social commerce, and multi-channel campaign optimization.

Key Performance Areas

Strategic Growth & Brand Architecture

  • Architect and implement a master marketing strategy that aligns with long-term retail business objectives and competitive positioning.

  • Direct market research initiatives to identify emerging consumer trends, product viability, and untapped market opportunities.

  • Design and execute integrated, high-impact campaigns across digital and traditional touchpoints to ensure a seamless brand narrative.

  • Oversee the end-to-end editorial calendar, ensuring that all content remains consistent with the brand’s unique tone and messaging.

Digital Ecosystem & Performance Management

  • Lead all digital-first initiatives, including advanced SEO strategies, aggressive social media engagement, and automated email marketing funnels.

  • Analyze complex performance metrics to improve conversion rates and enhance the digital guest experience.

  • Manage the marketing budget with a focus on high-ROI activities and cost-effective resource allocation.

  • Serve as the primary liaison for media houses, advertising agencies, and external vendors to amplify the brand’s reach.

Leadership & Cross-Functional Synergy

  • Mentor and manage the internal marketing and creative teams, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous skill development.

  • Collaborate closely with Sales, Product, and Customer Support departments to ensure marketing efforts translate into tangible revenue growth.

  • Plan and execute large-scale promotional events and on-ground activations to drive physical and digital footfall.

  • Provide regular, data-backed ROI reports to senior leadership to inform strategic pivoting and future investments.

Required Competencies

Professional Background

  • Education: Master’s Degree in Marketing or a related field is highly preferred.

  • Certification: CIM certification and a valid MSK membership are mandatory.

  • Experience: Minimum of 7 years in marketing, with at least 5 years specifically in Digital Marketing.

  • Sector Knowledge: Experience in the retail industry and basic graphic design skills will be considered a significant advantage.

  • Analytical Depth: Mastery of data interpretation and marketing analytics to guide decision-making.

  • Fiscal Responsibility: Strong skills in budgeting and financial oversight for large-scale marketing spend.
