Role Overview
This teaching position puts you at the heart of a modern, digitally supported classroom, where you will deliver the Competency-Based Curriculum with confidence and creativity. Your daily work involves planning engaging lessons, facilitating active learning, and using ICT tools to enhance student understanding and track progress. Beyond instruction, you play a key role in shaping learners’ character, communication skills, and problem-solving abilities in a supportive school environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver lesson plans aligned to the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBE), using a learner-centred approach.
- Incorporate ICT resources and digital platforms into everyday instruction to boost engagement and digital literacy.
- Assess student performance through continuous, formative, and summative evaluation methods, keeping accurate records of progress.
- Identify learners with diverse needs and adapt teaching strategies to support inclusion and individual growth.
- Maintain a positive, safe, and disciplined classroom environment that encourages curiosity and collaboration.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about student achievement, behaviour, and learning goals.
- Participate in staff meetings, school events, and co-curricular activities that enrich the school community.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with education policies, TSC requirements, and emerging teaching technologies.
Requirements & Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Education (B.Ed.) from a recognised university.
- Full registration with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) with a valid teaching certificate.
- Demonstrated proficiency in basic ICT skills, including word processing, presentation software, and the use of digital learning platforms.
- Strong understanding of the Competency-Based Curriculum and its assessment guidelines.
- Excellent classroom management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with fellow teachers, school leadership, and parents.
- At least 2 years of teaching experience in a recognised school is an added advantage.
