Role Overview
CARE is introducing a global fleet technology solution as part of a wider effort to improve vehicle safety, manage costs and assets more effectively, and support programme delivery in complex operating environments. The Change Manager will guide country offices and other stakeholders through the transition, turning project changes into practical plans for communication, training, readiness, and sustained use of the new system.
Reporting to the Fleet functional lead, with a dotted line to the Senior Director of Transformation, this role works alongside project, technical, country-office, and implementation teams. Its focus is to build understanding and commitment across CARE’s diverse global operations so the technology is adopted effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Map project stakeholders and assess their needs, influence, and likely responses to inform engagement and communications plans.
- Build leadership alignment and stakeholder support through tailored engagement approaches and supporting materials, including change narratives, current-to-future-state comparisons, and impact assessments.
- Identify how the fleet solution will affect people, processes, and systems, and document those impacts clearly for project and country teams.
- Develop a practical change strategy and coordinated transition plans covering activities at both global project and country-office levels.
- Work with project sponsors and initiative leads to create and deliver communications that explain the changes, address concerns, and support adoption.
- Anticipate resistance and emerging implementation challenges; identify influential stakeholders who can help communicate with colleagues across different contexts.
- Contribute to CARE’s internal Transformation team and help strengthen the organisation’s change management approach through guidance and training.
- Promote the value of structured change management in delivering CARE’s transformation priorities.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in organisational development, communications, logistics, or a related discipline.
- At least four years of experience in change management, organisational development, or communications.
- Change management certification, such as Prosci or ACMP.
- Experience supporting large-scale technology implementations involving multiple business units.
- Strong written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to make complex information clear and relevant.
- Ability to engage stakeholders across cultures, time zones, and organisational levels.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365, particularly PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint, and practical proficiency using AI applications.
- A master’s degree in a relevant field is preferred.
- Familiarity with nonprofit or international development organisations is preferred.
- Experience with fleet management systems or operational technology, matrixed or federated organisations, and change programmes spanning multiple countries is preferred.
