Audio Assistant

Role Overview

This full-time, on-site Audio Assistant role supports the technical delivery of broadcasts, concerts, corporate events, and other productions. You’ll prepare and operate audio and related event systems, help capture and edit sound, and keep equipment ready for use so productions run smoothly and audiences receive clear, reliable output.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect and test equipment before productions, spotting faults early and resolving issues where possible.
• Set up, connect, position, and secure audio, video, lighting, and associated event equipment.
• Operate and monitor sound systems during live events and broadcasts, adjusting levels and processing to suit venue acoustics and background noise.
• Record speech, music, and other audio content, then assist with digitising analogue recordings and post-production editing.
• Help deploy and operate LED display systems used at live events.
• Carry out routine equipment checks, basic servicing, and troubleshooting to maintain reliable operation.
• Handle, store, and transport technical equipment safely, coordinating with other production teams as needed.

Requirements & Qualifications

• At least three years of practical experience in audio, sound engineering, broadcasting, live events, or a related technical setting.
• A diploma or degree in Sound Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Hands-on familiarity with professional audio systems and event equipment, including setup, operation, and basic fault-finding.
• Strong attention to detail, organisation, and time management, with the ability to troubleshoot calmly under pressure.
• Clear communication and a collaborative approach, plus flexibility to work in fast-moving production environments.
• Additional relevant qualifications or substantial practical experience are an advantage.
• A genuine interest in professional audio, broadcasting, and live production.
