Role Overview

This position is central to shaping how students and recent graduates prepare for the working world. You will act as a career guide and connector, offering one-on-one coaching, organising skill-building events, and bridging the gap between academic life and employer expectations. Your work directly influences graduate outcomes by ensuring that every student has access to practical tools, professional contacts, and real-world experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct individual advising sessions with students and alumni, covering resume construction, interview techniques, job-search planning, and long-term career mapping.
• Plan and run interactive workshops, panel discussions, and seminars that build core employability skills such as pitching, personal branding, and workplace communication.
• Partner with teaching departments to weave career-readiness topics into coursework and arrange for industry speakers, company visits, and applied learning projects.
• Organise recruitment expos, employer meet-and-greets, and on-campus hiring drives to give candidates direct access to relevant organisations.
• Collect and interpret graduate destination data, skills assessments, and programme feedback, then use those insights to refine career services and report on progress.
• Work alongside academic advisors, student support teams, alumni networks, and other campus units to deliver a seamless, well-rounded guidance experience for every individual.
• Build and maintain a robust employer network, securing internship slots, mentoring arrangements, apprenticeships, and work-study openings for current students and alumni.
• Proactively identify gaps in career programming and introduce fresh initiatives that respond to evolving labour market demands and student needs.

Requirements & Qualifications

• A recognised bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Counselling, Psychology, Education, or a directly related discipline.
• At least three years of hands-on experience in career counselling, student advising, or a comparable role within a sizeable, well-established organisation.
• Active membership in a relevant professional body, demonstrating commitment to industry standards and ongoing development.
• Solid grasp of modern career advising methods, practical job-search tactics, and current employment market trends.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences in both individual and group settings.
• Proven track record of designing, launching, and managing career-oriented programmes, workshops, or events from concept through execution.
• Dedication to fostering an inclusive environment where equity and diversity are embedded in all career service activities.
