Role Overview
This role focuses on growing the organisation's pension client base by driving acquisition of NSSF Tier II business. You will spend your days building relationships with employers, intermediaries, and partner institutions, while educating them on the value of Tier II opt-out pension arrangements. Your efforts directly contribute to the company's revenue targets and expand retirement coverage among workers who need it most.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a healthy sales pipeline to secure new NSSF Tier II pension mandates and meet individual acquisition targets.
- Activate and support distribution channels including brokers, independent agents, bancassurance partners, and APA agents to originate Tier II pension business.
- Assess client circumstances and recommend appropriate NSSF Tier II solutions that align with their retirement planning objectives.
- Engage employers' HR and finance teams to establish new retirement schemes and facilitate Tier II opt-out registrations.
- Take part in marketing drives, field campaigns, and stakeholder events focused on pension acquisition and Tier II opt-out opportunities.
- Work with associations, professional bodies, and other partners to unlock group pension business and broaden referral networks.
- Identify prospective employers, organise training sessions, and walk them through the need for pension provision and the Tier II opt-out process.
- Prepare weekly and monthly performance reports detailing business won, activity levels, and progress against acquisition goals.
Requirements & Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in a business-related field, marketing, finance, or another relevant discipline.
- At least two years of experience in pension sales, employee benefits, insurance, or a related financial services environment.
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to handle objections from employers, intermediaries, and individual clients.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with confidence presenting to both small groups and senior decision-makers.
- A collaborative team player who can also work independently and manage their own sales calendar.
- Relevant professional certifications (for example, in insurance, pensions, or financial planning) will be considered an added advantage.
