Role Overview
This position sits at the intersection of security technology and the built environment, focusing on one core mission: making our client the go-to name for electronic security systems before a project even goes to tender. Day to day, you will be out in the field—meeting architects, consultants, developers, and security managers, tracking upcoming construction projects, and ensuring our client is engaged early enough to influence specifications. You are the front end of the sales funnel: your work directly determines how many qualified opportunities reach our presales and design teams, and ultimately shapes the company’s market share across Kenya’s government, financial, and commercial sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively build and nurture long-term relationships with consultants, quantity surveyors, architects, project owners, developers, and security managers across the built-environment and infrastructure ecosystem.
- Systematically map and monitor construction projects in the pipeline or already underway, identifying the right stakeholders to engage at the earliest possible stage.
- Represent the company at industry events, professional association meetings, site visits, and networking functions to raise brand awareness and establish credibility as a trusted security-systems partner.
- Position the company’s integrated electronic security solutions—including surveillance, access control, fire detection, and building management—as the preferred choice for key decision-makers.
- Generate and qualify leads, then hand them off cleanly to the presales team for quotation and the design team for solution development.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of relationships, engagements, and opportunity statuses in the CRM, providing a clear basis for periodic review meetings.
- Gather and feed market intelligence back to management—competitor activity, upcoming tenders, industry trends, and shifts in the project pipeline.
- Own delivery against a mutually agreed business development target, while collaborating closely with presales and design teams to ensure smooth internal handoffs.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of proven B2B business development or relationship management experience, ideally in construction, built environment, security, or ICT-related industries.
- An existing professional network among consultants, architects, quantity surveyors, or project owners is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated track record of building and maintaining relationships at a senior or professional level.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present confidently to architects, consultants, project owners, and senior stakeholders.
- Self-driven and comfortable operating autonomously, with a high degree of accountability for results.
- Added advantage: prior experience in the ELV (Extra Low Voltage) or electronic security domain.
What We Offer / Why Join
You will receive product and technical training on onboarding—no prior security-systems product knowledge is required. You will be backed by dedicated presales and design teams, so you can focus entirely on relationship-building and pipeline generation rather than getting pulled into quoting or technical design. This is a high-profile, high-autonomy role representing an established, reputable brand within its industry, giving you the platform to build a lasting network across Kenya’s built-environment and security sectors.
