Role Overview
This position leads a field sales team focused on winning and growing business with corporate and institutional buyers. You will split your time between managing and coaching sales executives and personally closing high-value deals, making this a truly hands-on leadership role. The work matters because the company relies on this team to expand its share of the technical products market, build long-term client relationships, and deliver measurable revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct the daily work of the sales executive team, allocating priorities across short-term wins and longer account-development efforts.
- Set clear sales targets, monitor progress against them, and step in to help close difficult negotiations.
- Run regular pipeline and performance reviews, giving individual feedback and adjusting tactics when results lag.
- Coach, mentor, and motivate team members to sharpen their selling skills and meet agreed performance standards.
- Identify and build relationships with decision-makers, procurement departments, contractors, developers, and other institutional stakeholders.
- Generate and manage major sales opportunities from first contact through proposal, negotiation, and close.
- Develop repeat-business and cross-selling strategies for key accounts while maintaining a robust corporate pipeline.
- Track competitor activity and market trends, then feed insights and sales forecasts into company strategy.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Diploma or bachelor's degree in sales, marketing, business administration, engineering, or a related discipline.
- At least three years of B2B sales experience, including demonstrated supervisory or team-lead responsibilities.
- Prior experience selling machinery, construction equipment, automotive products, industrial goods, or engineering solutions is strongly preferred.
- A verifiable record of consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets in a corporate and institutional environment.
- Strong negotiation, presentation, and commercial proposal skills.
- Proven ability to lead, coach, and build the capability of salespeople.
- Excellent communication and relationship-management skills, with the confidence to operate at senior buyer levels.
- Ability to juggle multiple accounts, opportunities, and priorities without losing sight of team goals.
- A valid driving licence is considered an advantage.
What We Offer / Why Join
You will receive a basic salary of KES 50,000 per month, with the opportunity to earn significant commission based on sales performance. This role suits a sales professional who is motivated by leading a team, building corporate relationships, and closing large, strategic deals rather than just handling routine transactions.
