Role Overview
You will spend your days visiting schools across Kenya, demonstrating how our educational technology platform improves classroom outcomes, onboarding new client schools, and nurturing existing relationships to ensure they get full value from the product. This role is critical because satisfied, engaged schools drive referrals and recurring usage, which directly supports our company’s aim to become the most trusted EdTech brand in Africa. Expect a mix of field sales, account management, and feedback collection — each week looks different, but every day centres on building trust with educators.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and visit prospective schools to present product demos and articulate the benefits of adopting our platform.
- Manage the full sales cycle from initial contact through contract signing and onboarding.
- Train new school administrators and teachers on using the platform effectively, ensuring a smooth launch.
- Maintain regular check-ins with existing client schools to address issues, gather feedback, and encourage deeper usage of features.
- Document common objections, success stories, and product improvement ideas from school interactions, then relay these to the product and marketing teams.
- Meet or exceed monthly sales targets while keeping accurate records of outreach activities and pipeline stages.
- Collaborate with the broader team to refine sales scripts, demo materials, and client support resources.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Genuine interest in education and how technology can solve challenges in African classrooms — no prior EdTech experience needed, but you must care about the mission.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English; ability to switch between formal presentations and casual conversations with school leaders.
- Self-discipline to work independently without constant oversight, while still hitting daily activity and revenue goals.
- Resilience to handle rejection — many schools will say no, and you must be able to quickly recover, learn, and move to the next prospect.
- Willingness to work irregular hours, including early mornings or weekends when school staff are most available.
- No specific degree or experience is required, but any background in retail, field sales, telesales, customer service, or marketing will give you an edge.
- Basic comfort with digital tools (smartphone, spreadsheets, video conferencing) and ability to learn new software quickly.
