Role Overview
This role takes charge of daily restaurant operations, ensuring every shift runs smoothly from front-of-house service to back-of-house compliance. You will spend the majority of your time on the floor, directly supervising staff, handling guest concerns, and maintaining the high standards that protect the brand’s reputation. By coaching team members, monitoring food quality, and safeguarding cash procedures, you directly support the restaurant’s sales goals and operational consistency.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise front-of-house and cashier stations to ensure proper food service, accurate billing, and correct change handling at all times.
- Enforce health, safety, and hygiene standards through regular deep-cleaning schedules and daily audits of food preparation areas, cutlery, and dining spaces.
- Monitor food and beverage quality by sampling items during shifts and conducting periodic store audits to confirm taste and presentation meet specifications.
- Resolve guest complaints regarding food quality or service promptly, and listen actively to feedback to prevent recurring issues.
- Oversee takeaway and delivery order processes, ensuring orders are taken correctly, prepared on time, and dispatched without errors.
- Coach and motivate team members to achieve sales targets through suggestive selling and introduction of new menu items.
- Manage personnel issues, including scheduling conflicts or performance gaps, while fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.
- Review operational reports such as profit-and-loss statements to identify areas for improvement in sales performance and cost control.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in Food & Beverage Service or an equivalent qualification from a recognised institution.
- At least two years of front-of-house experience, or equivalent time as a management trainee or stand-in manager in the food service or hospitality industry.
- Proven ability to handle cash transactions accurately and operate point-of-sale systems.
- Competent in Microsoft Office Suite and able to interpret P&L statements to drive operational decisions.
- Strong verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to coordinate teams and maintain clear information flow.
- Comfortable working under pressure, making quick decisions, and adapting to changing demands on the floor.
- Demonstrated people management skills, including empowering team members, fostering teamwork, and providing motivational support.
- Result-oriented mindset with a proactive approach to solving problems and driving continuous improvement.
