Role Overview
This position puts you in charge of a retail branch's daily heartbeat: making sure the sales floor runs cleanly, the team hits its numbers, and customers leave satisfied enough to return. You’ll balance operational discipline with people leadership, stepping in wherever needed—whether that’s coaching a new sales associate, reviewing stock levels, or resolving a complaint on the spot.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the branch’s sales plan, converting targets into weekly team goals and tracking progress against them.
- Direct day-to-day store activity, including opening and closing routines, shift coverage, and task prioritisation so nothing stalls.
- Build a motivated team through regular one-on-one coaching, constructive feedback, and on-floor training tied to real sales situations.
- Set the standard for customer experience by handling escalations personally and teaching the team to anticipate shopper needs.
- Monitor inventory accuracy, oversee inbound and outbound stock movements, and coordinate with the supply chain to prevent overstock or out-of-stock situations.
- Review daily, weekly, and monthly performance data to spot trends, identify areas for improvement, and report findings to regional leadership.
- Uphold visual merchandising standards, workplace safety protocols, and company policies across every corner of the branch.
Requirements & Qualifications
- At least two years of experience in retail management or a comparable leadership role, with direct responsibility for sales outcomes.
- A demonstrable history of meeting or exceeding sales targets while developing the people behind those results.
- Strong problem-solving skills, especially when handling customer complaints, staffing gaps, or inventory discrepancies under time pressure.
- Clear, confident communication with team members, customers, and upper management, both in person and in writing.
- Ability to juggle competing priorities in a fast-paced environment without losing attention to detail.
- Hands-on familiarity with POS systems, inventory tools, and Microsoft Office for reporting and daily operational tasks.
- A diploma or bachelor’s degree in business management, marketing, retail management, or a related discipline is preferred but not mandatory.
