Royal Classic is looking for a Billing Engineer to own the financial tracking and documentation side of construction projects in Abu Dhabi. Working between site teams and the commercial department, you will turn completed physical work into approved payments, verify measurements and quantities, and keep client and subcontractor billing moving without friction. Your attention to detail directly protects project cash flow and keeps contractual records audit-ready at every stage.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and submit interim payment applications and final account documentation in line with the terms of the contract.
- Carry out site-specific quantity measurements and cross-check them against bill of quantities (BOQ) items and approved drawings.
- Manage billing for both clients and subcontractors, ensuring invoices, payment certificates, and backup documents are accurate and delivered on schedule.
- Identify, draft, and price variations and claims, including supporting calculations for additional works, delays, and disruptions.
- Coordinate with project engineers, quantity surveyors, consultants, and clients to resolve measurement disputes and secure timely payment approvals.
- Maintain detailed records of invoices, payment certificates, outstanding balances, and correspondence related to billing and commercial matters.
- Produce commercial and billing reports for senior management, highlighting discrepancies, cash positions, and forecast vs. actual performance.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Proven hands-on experience as a Billing Engineer or in a similar commercial role within construction or civil engineering.
- A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, quantity surveying, construction management, or a related field.
- Strong practical knowledge of construction contracts, payment procedures, and standard commercial documentation.
- Demonstrated experience with BOQs, interim payment certificates (IPCs), final accounts, variations, and claim preparation.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and familiarity with construction management or project financial software.
- Solid ability to interpret technical drawings, perform quantity analysis, and apply cost control principles on active job sites.
- Excellent coordination and communication skills for working with clients, consultants, and internal project teams.
- UAE-based candidates are preferred, and experience on civil, infrastructure, roads, buildings, or railway projects is an added advantage.
