Backend Developer

Role Overview

You will join a cross-functional product team as a backend-focused software engineer, helping design and build the enterprise platforms that internal users and external customers rely on every day. Your work will span the full delivery lifecycle: turning requirements into well-structured code, shipping it through automated pipelines, and supporting it in production with a strong emphasis on security and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement backend services, APIs, and microservices using Java with Spring Boot, ensuring they meet functional and non-functional requirements.
• Build and maintain RESTful integration layers that connect internal systems and third-party services securely and efficiently.
• Develop frontend components using ReactJS or Angular where needed, collaborating with UI-focused colleagues to deliver complete features.
• Automate build, test, and deployment processes within CI/CD pipelines, integrating security scanning and quality gates from the start.
• Write comprehensive unit and integration tests, and work with QA engineers to sustain automated regression coverage.
• Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and design walkthroughs, contributing to technical decisions that shape the platform roadmap.
• Deploy and manage containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes, maintaining cloud infrastructure in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Diagnose production issues, identify root causes, and implement fixes with monitoring and observability tools to support operational health.
• Document technical designs, runbooks, and release notes to ensure knowledge is shared across delivery and support teams.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 2–4 years of hands-on software development experience, with demonstrated delivery of enterprise backend applications.
• Strong proficiency in Java and Spring Boot, plus working knowledge of Python for scripting and automation tasks.
• Practical experience with ReactJS or Angular in building responsive user interfaces integrated with backend services.
• Solid understanding of microservices architecture, API design principles, and integration patterns for enterprise systems.
• Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and using source control tools such as Git, preferably in a DevSecOps-oriented environment.
• Familiarity with secure software development practices, including threat modeling, static code analysis, and security testing.
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes or OpenShift for container orchestration and cloud-native deployment.
• Knowledge of relational databases like PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle, or MySQL; exposure to NoSQL databases is a plus.
• Working familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and infrastructure-as-code concepts.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical trade-offs to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Demonstrated experience working in Agile or Scrum teams, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• A collaborative mindset with willingness to mentor junior developers, share knowledge, and contribute to continuous improvement.
• Analytical troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and a results-oriented approach to delivering quality software on schedule.
