Role Overview
You will work alongside the Project Manager to keep telecommunications and engineering projects moving from planning through to completion. Your focus is on the operational daily rhythm: coordinating field crews, tracking progress against deadlines, and turning on-the-ground updates into clear reports for clients and internal teams. By bridging the gap between technical staff and stakeholders, you help ensure every project meets quality, safety, and service-level commitments.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Project Manager in breaking down project plans into actionable tasks, assigning resources, and monitoring execution against milestones.
- Coordinate with field teams and supervisors to align daily work schedules, manage resource availability, and remove bottlenecks that could delay deliverables.
- Compile and distribute daily and weekly progress reports that track completed work, pending items, and risks for project leadership and clients.
- Monitor project activities to ensure outcomes meet or exceed the expectations of end users and stakeholders.
- Enforce compliance with QEHS (Quality, Environment, Health, and Safety) standards across all project phases, flagging any deviations immediately.
- Track project timelines against client milestones and service-level agreements, proactively identifying slippage and recommending corrective actions.
- Serve as the communication link between clients, technical teams, and management, providing accurate status updates and making sure issues are escalated when needed.
- Identify inefficiencies in current workflows and propose practical improvements to boost operational performance and service quality.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Certificate or Diploma in Telecommunications, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- At least one year of hands-on experience in a project coordination, project support, or similar role within a telecom or engineering environment.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace tools for reporting, scheduling, and data tracking.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present project status clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Basic understanding of project management principles such as planning, resource allocation, and risk tracking.
- Familiarity with Quality, Environment, Health, and Safety standards in field operations is a plus.
- A recognised project management certification (e.g., CAPM, PRINCE2, or PMP) is an added advantage.
