We are seeking a commercially aggressive, relationship-driven Modern Trade Sales Executive to spearhead our portfolio growth across major supermarkets, hypermarkets, and tier-one retail chains. Your primary objective is to maximize on-shelf availability, secure prominent product listings, and drive high-volume off-take across assigned retail accounts. This position bridges high-level commercial negotiations with hands-on trade marketing execution; you will steer retail partnerships from boardroom listing agreements and margin setups through to floor-level merchandising audits and promotional campaigns. The role demands an energetic professional who understands the specific mechanics of FMCG retail supply chains and can preserve top-tier brand placement in a highly competitive market.
Core Competencies
Modern Trade Expansion & Revenue Delivery
- Execute tailored field sales strategies across assigned hypermarkets and retail chains to consistently hit and surpass monthly volume quotas.
- Prospect, pitch, and negotiate lucrative product listings, primary shelf share, and optimal pricing structures with retail category managers.
- Track local competitor SKU launches, shifting price architectures, and retail strategies to recommend immediate, proactive field actions.
- Audit out-of-stock trends continuously, coordinating with store procurement desks to ensure constant order replenishment.
Key Account Management & Partner Care
- Nurture deep, highly collaborative partnerships with supermarket buyers, branch managers, and receiving bay personnel.
- Resolve retail client inquiries, invoice reconciliation friction, and stock delivery disputes with absolute professional poise.
- Provide consistent commercial updates to retail partners, positioning our brand portfolio as an essential driver of their category growth.
Trade Marketing & Floor Merchandising
- Coordinate and deploy impactful in-store promotions, weekend sampling activations, and seasonal product displays.
- Secure premium eye-level shelf positioning, end-cap placements, and secondary promotional zones across all high-traffic aisles.
- Manage and brief field merchandisers, verifying that product presentation, cleanliness, and price ticketing meet strict corporate benchmarks.
- Analyze the return on investment of localized promotional campaigns, compiling field data to optimize upcoming trade marketing budgets.
Operations Sync & Commercial Reporting
- Partner closely with internal supply chain, warehouse logistics, and finance teams to guarantee seamless, on-time delivery fulfillment.
- Maintain organized client account records, tracking delivery invoices, returns processing, and payment collection lifecycles.
- Compile and present meticulous weekly sales tracking matrices, stock movement forecasts, and localized retail insights for executive review.
Skills & Experience Required
Minimum Entry Criteria
- Academic Foundation: Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Sales and Marketing, Business Administration, or a complementary commercial track.
- Industry Experience: Minimum of 2 years of progressive field experience explicitly managing modern trade accounts (supermarkets/hypermarkets) within the FMCG sector.
- Track Record: Verifiable history of securing SKU listings, growing shelf share, and meeting strict individual volume targets.
- Digital Toolkit: General proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (particularly Excel for tracking sales numbers) and familiarity with modern CRM tools.
