Role Overview
We are seeking a highly articulate, commercially aggressive Business Development Executive to anchor the market growth of our professional legal services portfolio. Your primary objective is to transform our specialized legal expertise into accessible commercial solutions, actively prospecting, presenting, and onboarding corporate entities, businesses, and private clients. This position bridges relationship management with consultative business-to-business sales; you will steer prospects from initial cold outreach and strategic networking through to detailed legal service proposals and signed retainer agreements. The role demands an ambitious, customer-centric professional who can comfortably navigate corporate decision-making structures within the capital city.
Areas of Accountability
Lead Acquisition & Portfolio Expansion
- Research, map, and pursue fresh commercial opportunities for the firm’s corporate, commercial, and individual legal practices.
- Generate and qualify high-potential corporate leads through targeted professional networking, institutional referrals, and digital outreach channels.
- Deliver persuasive sales pitches and structured commercial presentations to corporate directors, business owners, and startup founders.
- Manage individual sales lifecycles methodically to consistently meet or surpass assigned monthly and quarterly revenue quotas.
Account Care & Consultative Bridge
- Act as a seamless liaison between the firm's legal specialists and the fast-moving requirements of the commercial market.
- Nurture deep, trust-based relationships with existing corporate retainers and newly acquired clients to drive long-term institutional loyalty.
- Address all inbound commercial inquiries quickly, coordinating with internal advocates to supply clients with clear procedural pathways.
Brand Positioning & Competitive Intelligence
- Deploy targeted professional marketing strategies to significantly enhance the firm's regional visibility and market reputation.
- Support the curation of sophisticated professional newsletters, legal insight publications, and corporate networking events.
- Analyze competitor firm offerings, changing corporate billing models, and emerging regulatory areas to advise partners on strategic growth options.
Tracking, Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain highly organized databases tracking active corporate leads, operational touchpoints, and transaction histories.
- Compile and format comprehensive weekly and monthly business development progress logs for senior management review.
- Analyze active pipeline conversions to offer realistic recommendations for optimizing internal sales velocity and onboarding workflows.
Skills & Experience Required
Minimum Entry Criteria
- Academic Foundation: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Sales and Marketing, or a complementary professional services discipline.
- Professional Exposure: Minimum of 6 months of active experience specializing in professional services sales, business-to-business marketing, or corporate consulting environments.
- Digital Toolkit: High proficiency with Microsoft Office applications alongside basic functional familiarity with modern CRM client management platforms.
