Job Description

Regional Sales Manager – Construction Materials (East Africa)

Job Purpose

The individual will be responsible for driving revenue growth, expanding market presence, and leading sales operations across Kenya and neighbouring countries. The ideal candidate must possess relevant experience in the construction materials sector within the region.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Actively prospect new customers.
  • Follow up on ongoing prospect discussions and bring them to successful closure.
  • Identify, prospect, and secure new business opportunities with existing customers.
  • Build strong business rapport with customers and potential customers.
  • Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation to closing deals and finally collecting payments.
  • Handle client negotiations, contracts, and after-sales support.
  • Conduct site visits, client meetings, product presentations, and sample approvals.
  • Regularly coordinate with the Business Development Director.
  • Prepare quotations, negotiate pricing, and close deals.
  • Track competitor activities and market pricing trends.
  • Achieve monthly and annual sales targets.
  • Provide accurate forecasting and sales reports to management.

Educational Qualifications & Experience

Education

  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration, marketing, sales, construction management, or a related field.
  • A postgraduate qualification (e.g., MBA) is an added advantage.

Experience

  • A minimum of 5–10 years’ experience in sales, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
  • Proven experience in the construction materials/products or building solutions sector within Kenya and/or the East African region.
  • Proven experience working with fixing accessories for steel structures.
  • Demonstrated track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth.
  • Experience managing the full sales cycle, including B2B sales, contract negotiation, and client relationship management.
  • Strong understanding of regional markets, including cross-border sales and distribution within East Africa.
