Job Title: Sales Associate – Retail Banking
About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Sales Associate to join our retail banking team. In this role, you will identify and develop new business opportunities, provide product guidance to prospective customers, and ensure seamless application processing while upholding the highest standards of service and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Source prospective customer leads from various channels, including referrals, cross-selling opportunities, bank-led sales activations, and provided sales leads.
- Explain product features to prospective customers in line with product specifications, ensuring fair treatment of customers at all times.
- Guide customers through the application process for the product they wish to purchase.
- Review customer applications and documentation to confirm accuracy and completeness.
- Authenticate customer details by checking original copies against photocopies of documents (e.g., National ID, passports).
- Forward completed applications to the relevant Sales Manager or Retail Support Team within 24 hours of customer sign-off.
- Prospect customers for additional bank products that suit their needs.
- Ensure safe custody of all customer documents under your care.
- Forward customer feedback or complaints to the respective Sales or Branch Manager.
- Share market information from the field with leadership to improve the bank’s products, and provide regular sales reports.
Qualifications & Requirements
The successful applicant should meet the following criteria:
- Be a recent graduate from a recognized university.
- Have a minimum mean grade of C+ in K.C.S.E, with a C+ in both Mathematics and English.
- Have excellent analytical and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrate a passion for and commitment to quality service.
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Have the ability to meet stringent targets within defined deadlines.
- Experience in sales or client relationship management will be an added advantage.
