Role Overview
We are seeking an energetic, commercially driven Automotive Lubricants Sales Representative to accelerate our market penetration within the downstream petroleum sector. Your primary objective is to acquire and scale commercial volume by actively prospecting, consulting, and building supply streams with auto garages, transit fleets, independent fuel stations, and retail stockists. This position bridges field-level account management with basic technical product positioning; you will steer clients from product benefit demonstrations and oil grade recommendations through to bulk procurement schedules. The role demands an ambitious field sales specialist who knows the local automotive trade and can systematically convert technical product advantages into repeat commercial revenue.
Areas of Accountability
Commercial Acquisition & Volume Growth
Map, target, and onboard high-yield retail partners, independent auto repair centers, transport fleets, and service points within the assigned zone.
Conduct structured daily field sales routes to actively present, promote, and close lubricant supply orders across our product line.
Execute target-driven sales plans to consistently hit or surpass assigned individual monthly revenue quotas and collection benchmarks.
Educate mechanics, spare part retailers, and fleet owners on product grading, viscous properties, and engine-wear prevention traits.
Account Insulation & Customer Relations
Cultivate and protect deep, long-term relationships with independent garage owners, workshop managers, and corporate fleet buyers to secure consistent repeat business.
Act as the lead technical contact for client inquiries, processing purchase orders, coordinating distribution drops, and resolving client complaints smoothly.
Provide continuous customer guidance on oil change cycles, specific engine applications, and correct industrial product matching.
Market Intelligence & Strategic Tracking
Track local downstream petroleum activities, competitor promotional trends, and shifting dealer margin pricing structures.
Aggregate field feedback regarding formulation performance and product accessibility to optimize localized logistics.
Compile and deliver structured weekly sales logs, transaction forecasts, and comprehensive territory health metrics for leadership evaluation.
Merchandising & Compliance Safeguards
Enhance product layout visibility and brand presence across service points, retail shelves, and mechanic workshops through localized product activations.
Enforce strict alignment with company commercial ethics, standard cash collection guidelines, and regional distribution credit caps.
Skills & Experience Required
Minimum Entry Criteria
Academic Foundation: Diploma in Sales & Marketing, Business Administration, or a matching commercial field.
Industry Track Record: Minimum of 2 years of progressive field sales experience specializing in downstream petroleum products, with an explicit focus on automotive or industrial lubricants.
Technical Acuity: Solid functional understanding of engine lubricants, oil formulations, viscosity ratings, and standard automotive mechanics.
Execution Capabilities: Proven history of managing independent sales routes and hitting volume targets under tight timelines.
