Branch Manager – Mombasa, Kenya
Our Kenya Business is seeking a Branch Manager to join our team in Mombasa, reporting to the Head of Machinery. In this leadership position, you will lead end-to-end procurement and logistics, including overseas orders, to deliver cost savings, supply continuity, and scalable support for business growth across Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive overall branch activities to ensure new equipment sales volume, sales revenue, gross profit, and market share targets are consistently achieved in the region covered by the role.
- Interact regularly with customers and key stakeholders to build and enhance relationships, gain market insights, receive feedback on NH brand performance and our service, proactively resolve issues, provide exceptional support and service, and ensure customer satisfaction to guarantee purchase considerations are converted to closed deals.
- In collaboration with marketing, Parts, Service, and business support managers, and with support and guidance from the OEM, organize customer days, brand clinics, introduction of new models and tools, new technologies, and enhanced use of NH tractors to create awareness and train farmers, tractor drivers, local mechanics, etc., to ensure customer brand loyalty and support the farmers’ value creation, throughput growth, and efficiency.
- Provide effective leadership to the sales team to guarantee new equipment sales targets are consistently achieved while ensuring the team is inspired and motivated to grow and achieve sustained success for New Holland and Inchcape.
- Embed the right ways of working for self and teams with a focus on health, safety, security of things, and drive ethical business practices that all employees, customers, and stakeholders can be proud of, to support customer attraction and retention.
About You
- Bachelor’s degree (Honours) with a minimum of Second-Class Upper Division. A further degree, post-graduate qualification, or MBA would be a desirable advantage.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in field sales operations; customer and/or trade marketing.
- Track record of exceptional management of customers for success that drives business growth and market share gains is highly desirable.
- Result- and high-performance-driven experience and capability. Ability to develop new ideas and creative ways of selling to ensure sales targets are consistently achieved.
- Ability to solve problems, course correct, and go the extra mile to deliver desired results.
- Demonstrable experience in capability building and skills development of people, and in managing a sales team and sales organisation for success.
- Ability to successfully manage interpersonal relationships and positively influence others; good negotiator and communicator.
- Commercially astute with a solid ability to take desirable decisions that deliver expected results and meet or exceed the needs of customers.
- High integrity and openness combined with commitment to ethical practices and good corporate governance.
