Role Description

  • This is a full-time, on-site Business Development Executive role based in Nairobi County, Kenya. The Business Development Executive will identify and qualify new business opportunities, build a strong sales pipeline, and conduct outbound and inbound lead generation activities across target segments such as merchants, banks, and PSPs. The role includes presenting Lipad’s solutions to prospective clients, running product demonstrations, preparing proposals, and negotiating commercial terms in line with company guidelines. The person in this role will manage and grow existing accounts, ensuring client satisfaction, renewals, and opportunities for upselling and cross-selling. Daily responsibilities also involve collaborating with product and marketing teams to refine value propositions, tracking performance against sales targets, maintaining accurate CRM records, and providing market feedback on customer needs, competitors, and emerging trends.

Qualifications

  • Proven skills in New Business Development and Lead Generation, with the ability to build and manage a strong pipeline.
  • Solid understanding of Business principles, including sales processes, commercial negotiations, and basic financial acumen.
  • Strong Communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain technical and financial concepts to diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience in Account Management, including relationship building, retention, and expansion of existing clients.
  • Prior experience in fintech, payments, banking, or SaaS sales is highly desirable.
  • Comfort working with CRM tools, sales reporting, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Ability to work on-site in Nairobi County, Kenya, and to meet clients in person as needed.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
