Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to handle end-to-end furniture production and woodwork projects in a professional workshop setting. The role includes interpreting technical drawings, selecting materials, cutting and assembling wood components, and applying finishing techniques to produce high-quality products. You will also be responsible for machine operation, maintenance, repairs, and ensuring all work meets safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, experienced, and capable of delivering precise and durable craftsmanship.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Interpretation & Planning

• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications accurately
• Select suitable wood types and materials based on project requirements

Production & Assembly

• Measure, mark, cut, and shape wood using hand and power tools
• Assemble components using joints, screws, adhesives, and other methods
• Construct furniture and woodwork items to required specifications

Finishing & Quality Control

• Sand, polish, varnish, paint, or stain wood surfaces for high-quality finishes
• Inspect work at different stages to ensure quality and compliance with standards

Machine Operation & Maintenance

• Operate woodworking machinery safely and efficiently
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot equipment issues

Repairs & Workshop Management

• Repair and refurbish damaged furniture
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment
• Ensure compliance with health and safety standards

Collaboration & Communication

• Work with designers, supervisors, and team members to meet deadlines
• Ensure client requirements and expectations are met

Key Requirements:

• Diploma or vocational training in Carpentry, Woodwork, or related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience in furniture making
• Strong knowledge of wood types, joints, and finishing techniques
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
• Skilled in using carpentry tools and machinery
• High attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
