Job Description:
We are seeking a results-driven Branch Manager for a microfinance branch in the Western Region. The role involves managing daily operations, supervising staff, overseeing loan processing, and maintaining high standards of customer service. The ideal candidate will drive business growth, ensure portfolio health, and maintain compliance with financial and operational regulations. Strong leadership, credit management, and community engagement skills are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Branch Operations & Management
Oversee daily branch operations and ensure adherence to policies and regulations
Supervise branch staff and ensure efficient workflow across loans, customer service, and cashiering
Maintain a secure, professional, and customer-focused environment
Monitor operational efficiency and service delivery
Credit & Lending Management
Supervise loan processing, appraisal, disbursement, and recovery
Maintain a healthy loan portfolio with timely repayments and low delinquency
Ensure adherence to credit policies and risk frameworks
Evaluate and approve/recommend loans within authority limits
Business Development & Client Relationship Management
Drive branch growth through client acquisition and product promotion
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, local leaders, and community stakeholders
Identify opportunities to expand branch outreach and portfolio
Team Leadership & Development
Lead, coach, and mentor loan officers and support staff
Conduct performance evaluations, training, and capacity-building initiatives
Foster a high-performance culture aligned with organizational goals
Reporting & Compliance
Prepare and submit accurate branch performance reports
Ensure compliance with financial, operational, and audit standards
Address and resolve audit findings efficiently
Key Requirements:
Degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or related field
Minimum 3 years’ experience in microfinance, retail banking, or financial services, with 1–2 years in a managerial role
Knowledge of microfinance principles, group lending, and rural financial markets
Strong credit analysis, risk management, and customer service skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Core Banking Systems (CBS)
