Job Description

Role Overview

Deliver classroom and hands-on training in industrial or construction plant engineering, civil engineering, or building and construction. The role helps trainees develop practical skills and subject knowledge through structured lessons, regular assessment, and the safe use and care of training equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach theoretical concepts and practical skills within the relevant area of specialization.
  • Prepare schemes of work, lesson plans, lesson notes, and appropriate teaching and learning materials.
  • Keep accurate and up-to-date records of trainee progress and attendance as required.
  • Assess trainees’ knowledge and practical competence, and record their performance.
  • Ensure tools and equipment are used appropriately and kept in good condition.
  • Support and participate in co-curricular activities.
  • Promote good conduct among trainees and provide guidance and counselling when needed.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Diploma in Industrial or Construction Plant Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Building and Construction.
  • Certificate in an instructors’ course from the Kenya School of TVET or KTTC.
  • Certificate in computer applications from a recognized institution.
