WordPress Team Lead

Blacksmith Agency is looking for a skilled WordPress Team Lead to manage custom WordPress projects from planning to delivery. This remote role is ideal for an experienced developer who can combine strong technical expertise with client-facing communication skills.

The successful candidate will lead custom website development projects, understand client business objectives, create efficient development strategies, and deliver fast, clean, and scalable WordPress solutions. The role requires hands-on coding experience along with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead custom WordPress projects from initial scope planning through final delivery.

• Understand client business goals and align development strategies with project objectives.

• Build custom WordPress themes, templates, plugins, and blocks.

• Write, review, and maintain high-quality code.

• Act as the primary development contact for clients.

• Improve development efficiency by using AI tools effectively.

• Maintain website performance, quality, and long-term health.

• Guide development processes and support team collaboration.

Requirements:

• Strong experience with custom WordPress development and PHP.

• Proficiency in modern HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

• Ability to scope projects and connect technical solutions with business goals.

• Experience using AI tools to improve development workflows.

• Strong client-facing communication skills with excellent English proficiency.

• Experience leading or owning website development projects.

• Ability to manage responsibilities beyond simply completing assigned tasks.
