Job Summary:
The Warehouse Storekeeper is responsible for overseeing the daily warehouse operations related to generator sets, spare parts, electrical and mechanical components, consumables, tools, and related equipment. The role ensures proper receiving, storage, inventory control, issuance, documentation, and dispatch of materials while maintaining accuracy, safety, efficiency, and operational readiness.
The position supervises warehouse personnel and coordinates closely with Procurement, Sales, Service, Logistics, and Operations departments to ensure timely availability and movement of materials required for projects, maintenance, and after-sales services.
WAREHOUSE OPERATIONS
Supervise and manage daily warehouse activities and store operations.
Ensure proper receiving, inspection, handling, storage, and issuance of materials.
Maintain organized warehouse layout for generator parts, alternators, engines, control panels, cables, lubricants, and accessories.
Monitor inbound and outbound deliveries to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Ensure all materials are properly labeled, tagged, and stored according to category and safety requirements.
Oversee loading and unloading of generator equipment and heavy materials.
INVENTORY MANAGEMENT
Maintain accurate inventory records through ERP system and manual monitoring.
Conduct regular stock counts, cycle counts, and annual inventory audits.
Monitor stock levels and coordinate replenishment requests with the Procurement department.
Identify slow-moving, obsolete, damaged, or excess inventory items.
Ensure FIFO (First In First Out) procedures are properly implemented where applicable.
Prevent inventory discrepancies, losses, and material wastage.
GENERATOR PARTS & TECHNICAL PARTS CONTROL
Handle storage and issuance of generator spare parts including:
Engines
Alternators
AVR
Control modules
Filters
Batteries
Breakers
Fuel system components
Cooling system components
Electrical accessories
Ensure sensitive electrical and electronic parts are stored under proper environmental conditions.
Coordinate with the Service Department regarding urgent breakdown parts and maintenance requirements.
Verify technical specifications and quantities against purchase orders and delivery notes.
DOCUMENTATION & REPORTING
Maintain accurate records of:
Goods Receiving Notes (GRN)
Delivery Notes (DN)
Material Request Forms (MRF)
Stock Transfer Forms
Inventory Reports
Return Materials
Damaged Materials Reports
Prepare weekly and monthly warehouse and inventory reports.
Ensure all warehouse transactions are properly documented and approved.
Coordinate with Accounts and Procurement regarding stock reconciliation and invoice verification.
TEAM SUPERVISION
Supervise warehouse assistants, storekeepers, drivers, and helpers.
Assign daily tasks and monitor workforce productivity.
Train warehouse personnel on proper handling procedures, inventory control, and safety standards.
Maintain discipline, teamwork, and operational efficiency within the warehouse.
Evaluate staff performance and recommend improvements.
LOGISTICS & COORDINATION
Coordinate delivery schedules with drivers and logistics personnel.
Ensure timely dispatch of materials to project sites, clients, and service teams.
Coordinate transportation and material transfers between branches or project locations.
Monitor packing and shipment procedures to avoid damage during transport.
SAFETY & COMPLIANCE
Ensure warehouse operations comply with company policies and safety regulations.
Maintain proper housekeeping and cleanliness within the warehouse.
Ensure proper storage of hazardous materials, oils, batteries, and chemicals.
Monitor use of PPE and safe lifting procedures.
Report warehouse incidents, damages, and safety concerns immediately.
Ensure fire safety equipment and emergency access are always maintained.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
Minimum 5 years of warehouse/storekeeping experience.
Minimum 2 years supervisory experience preferably in generator, power equipment, electromechanical, construction, or industrial industry.
Experience handling generator spare parts and technical inventory is highly preferred.
Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
Excellent organizational and inventory management abilities.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work under pressure and handle urgent operational requirements.
Good communication and coordination skills.
Problem-solving and decision-making capability.
Time management and multitasking skills.
