Role Overview
This is a bilingual outreach and support position built around the telephone. Most of the working day is spent calling through an assigned list of contacts, holding the conversation in whichever language the person on the other end prefers, and using the company's approved call frameworks as a starting point rather than a word-for-word cage. Layered on top of the calling work is ongoing language support — converting Spanish emails, documents and internal messages into clear English (and the reverse) so nothing is lost between teams. The role matters because whoever holds it is frequently the first human voice a Spanish-speaking customer, partner or applicant encounters, and the accuracy of their records and translations decides how quickly the rest of the business can act.
Key Responsibilities
- Place outbound calls to English- and Spanish-speaking contacts, working from company-provided scripts while keeping the exchange natural and responsive to what the person actually says.
- Conduct entire conversations in the caller's preferred language, switching between Spanish and English mid-call when the situation calls for it.
- Translate emails, written documents and internal communications between Spanish and English, preserving meaning, tone and register rather than translating literally.
- Record call outcomes, contact details and promised follow-ups in the company's systems so every interaction is traceable and accurate.
- Carry out the administrative and operational tasks that keep the calling effort running — arranging callbacks, maintaining trackers, and preparing short summaries for colleagues.
- Escalate questions, objections or unusual requests that fall outside the script to a supervisor instead of improvising an answer.
- Uphold the company's reputation on every call through courteous, professional conduct in both languages.
- Keep shared inboxes, files and message threads organised so a colleague can pick up the work seamlessly in your absence.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Full professional fluency in Spanish and English, spoken and written, with the ability to move between the two without losing nuance.
- Confident written translation skills — accurate grammar, spelling and tone in both languages.
- Background in outbound calling, customer service, reception or office administration is an advantage, though strong bilingual ability matters more than a specific number of years.
- Comfortable spending the majority of the working day on the phone and handling similar conversations repeatedly with consistent quality.
- Genuinely organised by habit: follows through on commitments, keeps records current, and notices when details don't line up.
- Self-directed enough to work through a list without constant supervision, but sensible about asking for help when a situation is unclear.
- Quick to absorb new software, dialling platforms, CRMs and internal workflows, with no reluctance about unfamiliar tools.
- Dependable attendance and a proactive, take-ownership attitude toward the work.
- A secondary school diploma or equivalent is generally expected; additional training in languages or office administration is a further asset.
