Role Overview
This position sits at the centre of the insurance service cycle, handling the day-to-day operational flow between clients, insurers, and internal teams. You will process requests from initial quotation through to policy issuance and claims settlement, making sure documentation is accurate, deadlines are met, and client queries are answered promptly. Your work directly supports the underwriting and claims officers by removing administrative bottlenecks and keeping every file, register, and update ready for review.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect client requirements, prepare quotation requests, chase insurer responses, and maintain a clear quotation register so no pending request is left unattended.
- Organise policy administration tasks including new business, renewals, mid-term changes, cancellations, and the issuing of certificates, medical cards, and stickers.
- Compile and check underwriting documents such as proposal forms and supporting evidence, submitting complete risk files for insurer approval and proper recordkeeping.
- Register and process claims notifications, help clients complete claim forms, verify supporting documents, and submit files to insurers.
- Track outstanding claims with insurers, relay status updates to clients, and escalate disputes or complex cases to the underwriting and claims officer or manager.
- Respond to routine client enquiries, provide onboarding support, coordinate delivery of insurance documents, and escalate issues that need more senior attention.
- Prepare insurance premium financing applications, send them to financial institutions, follow up on decisions, and log each application in a tracking system.
- Keep electronic and physical client files accurate, update databases and registers, assist with departmental reports, and share reconciliation information with finance.
Requirements & Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree or diploma in insurance, risk management, business administration, finance, or another related discipline.
- A professional insurance qualification such as AIIK or a College of Insurance certification, or active progress towards one, is an added advantage.
- At least one to two years of practical experience spanning insurance underwriting, claims handling, and insurance broking.
- Strong attention to detail when checking policy schedules, certificates, claims forms, and other client-facing documents.
- Familiarity with insurance processes including quotations, endorsements, renewals, and claims registers, with the ability to manage competing deadlines.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills for liaising with insurers, financial institutions, and clients at all levels.
- A disciplined approach to confidentiality and recordkeeping, ensuring client information remains secure and retrievable.
