Role Overview
You will own the commercial performance of your assigned territory, acting as both the strategic driver and operational anchor for a fast-growing, mission-focused organization. Your days will alternate between deep-diving into sales and repayment data with your manager, coaching field representatives on the ground, and translating market intelligence into concrete action plans that scale impact while hitting revenue targets. This is not a desk-bound role — expect to spend significant time in the field, building relationships with key stakeholders and ensuring every team member understands how their daily work contributes to larger social and financial goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Own territory-level business outcomes by working closely with your manager to set, track, and exceed targets for sales volume, repayment rates, and overall impact metrics.
- Recruit, onboard, and develop a high-performing sales team, including setting individual goals, observing field performance, and conducting regular coaching sessions to improve effectiveness.
- Design and implement territory-specific sales strategies that reflect local market conditions, customer behavior, and seasonal trends, while staying aligned with national objectives.
- Use market research and customer feedback to identify untapped growth opportunities, new customer segments, and potential partnership channels within your area.
- Analyze sales and repayment data weekly to spot performance gaps, diagnose root causes, and adjust tactics quickly — whether that means reallocating resources, retraining staff, or revising incentive structures.
- Collaborate with marketing and product teams to create localized promotions, awareness campaigns, and customer education initiatives that convert interest into sales.
- Maintain a strong network of key customers, community leaders, and institutional partners, representing the organization and protecting its reputation in your territory.
- Contribute actively to forecasting, budgeting, and target-setting processes, giving leadership an accurate picture of your market's potential and challenges.
- Keep a continuous pulse on competitor activities, pricing shifts, and regulatory changes that could affect your territory, and share actionable insights with the wider team.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, economics, or a related field preferred; equivalent practical experience will also be considered.
- At least 3–5 years of experience in sales management, field sales leadership, or territory management, ideally in a fast-paced consumer goods, financial services, or impact-driven organization.
- Proven ability to recruit, motivate, and manage a distributed team of sales representatives, including setting clear expectations and holding people accountable with empathy.
- Strong analytical mindset with hands-on experience using sales dashboards, spreadsheets, and CRM or sales tracking software to make data-informed decisions.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, comfortable speaking with frontline staff, senior executives, and external partners alike.
- Demonstrated problem-solving ability in ambiguous, high-pressure situations — able to navigate roadblocks and change course without losing momentum.
- Familiarity with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides) and common sales productivity tools such as Salesforce or similar platforms.
- Results-driven and resilient, with a genuine passion for the organization's mission and a commitment to driving both commercial and social impact.
