Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organized, process-driven Transport Supervisor to manage our specialized fleet and driver operations. Your primary focus will be to streamline daily vehicle assignments, driving maximum efficiency across our fleet of hearses, ambulances, and support vehicles while maintaining an impeccable standard of promptness. This position bridges rigorous logistics coordination with deeply respectful client service; you will guide transport personnel from initial dispatch commands and hospital document verifications through to routine mechanical checks and precise fuel tracking. The role demands a mature professional with a clinical or mortuary fleet background who can preserve total operational control under pressure while enforcing absolute dignity and safety protocols.
Core Competencies
Fleet Operations & Dispatch Mechanics
- Coordinate and direct the daily deployment, routing, and task tracking of all active transport assets across designated regional locations.
- Review transport logs and route tracking systems continuously to minimize transit delays and optimize turnaround windows.
- Supervise the prompt, dignified transfer and collection of deceased persons from medical hubs, ensuring zero compromise on professional standards.
- Re-route assets dynamically to address short-notice service escalations, emergency pick-ups, or sudden mechanical breakdowns.
Asset Maintenance & Compliance Management
- Establish and monitor comprehensive preventative maintenance plans, service cycles, and repair timelines for all active vehicles.
- Execute thorough, routine multi-point safety walks to guarantee that every van, hearse, and ambulance remains fully roadworthy.
- Keep precise digital records for all asset profiles, managing timely renewals for commercial insurance, speed governor calibrations, and state licenses.
- Analyze fuel consumption trends across individual vehicles, deploying tight monitoring tools to eliminate excessive idling or fuel fraud.
Workforce Supervision & Scheduling Structures
- Lead and organize our team of professional drivers and transit support personnel, setting clear behavioral expectations.
- Formulate balanced, rotating staff shift schedules and duty rosters that ensure 24/7 service availability.
- Conduct objective performance reviews, log attendance parameters, and initiate formal disciplinary measures when safety guidelines are breached.
- Provide continuous coaching regarding defensive driving strategies, medical-legal transport laws, and specialized guest etiquette.
Institutional Relations & Compliance Logs
- Liaise confidently with hospital administrators, morgue supervisors, and medical examiners to verify transit documentation and clear release paperwork.
- Enforce strict compliance with all national traffic laws, public health transfer rules, and biohazard sanitization codes.
- Audit all incident reports regarding vehicle dents, route deviations, or handling friction, providing structured fixes to executive leadership.
- Compile and deliver comprehensive weekly cost breakdowns, mileage efficiency graphs, and operational summaries for administrative review.
