Trainers - Building Technology Trainer

Role Overview

Muraga Technical Training Institute is looking for a dedicated trainer to join its Building and Technology department. In this role, you will deliver both theoretical and hands-on instruction to students pursuing technical certifications, guide them through practical workshop projects, and help them develop the skills needed for careers in construction and building technology. Your work will directly support the institute's mission of producing competent, job-ready graduates for the local and national workforce.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver engaging lessons in building technology topics such as construction methods, materials, drawing, and site practice.
• Plan and supervise practical sessions in workshops and worksites, ensuring students apply safety standards and correct techniques.
• Develop lesson plans, teaching aids, and assessment tools that align with the institute's curriculum and examination requirements.
• Assess student progress through assignments, tests, practical projects, and end-of-term examinations, providing constructive feedback.
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and assessments, and report results to the academic office.
• Guide and mentor students on workplace expectations, professionalism, and career pathways within the building industry.
• Participate in departmental meetings, curriculum reviews, and continuous improvement activities to enhance training quality.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Minimum Diploma in Building and Technology from a recognized institution; higher qualifications will be an added advantage.
• Pedagogical skills are mandatory, meaning you must have formal training or proven ability in teaching methodology and classroom delivery.
• Previous experience in teaching, training, or practical supervision within a technical or vocational setting is required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage students from diverse backgrounds.
• Practical knowledge of building construction techniques, tools, materials, and safety regulations.
• Valid Certificate of Good Conduct, national Identity Card, and relevant academic and professional certificates.
• Must provide names and contacts of two referees who are familiar with your academic or professional work.
