Role Overview
This field-based role is responsible for building a strong, active network of mobile money agents and SIM registration outlets. You will spend most of your time on the road, visiting assigned outlets to drive sales, ensure agents are well stocked with SIMs and float, and keep the brand visible at the point of purchase. Your work directly supports subscriber growth and mobile money transaction volumes by turning everyday retail shops into reliable, compliant sales channels.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete regular channel visitations using agreed route plans, with a focus on retailer awareness, SIM sales, and float availability at SSO and T-Kash agent outlets.
- Identify, recruit, and map new SSOs and T-Kash agents, prioritising mobile money outlets and high-traffic retail stores with strong sales potential.
- Monitor agent stock levels and strictly enforce the 1.5x stock rule to prevent stockouts while ensuring SSOs have enough SIM inventory for new registrations and activations.
- Provide agents and SSOs with the necessary transaction tools and deliver hands-on training on operational processes, including float management, SIMREG, and KYC compliance.
- Conduct AML training and testing for agents, ensuring all outlets understand and follow anti-money laundering requirements and proper SIM registration procedures.
- Maintain merchandising standards by supplying promotional and display materials to designated outlets and ensuring they are correctly positioned for maximum visibility.
- Track visit call rates and agent performance, following up on underperforming outlets and capturing field-level insights to improve channel productivity.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
- At least one year of experience in sales and distribution within an FMCG or telecommunications environment.
- Strong customer focus with the ability to build lasting relationships with retailers and agents.
- Proven influencing and negotiation skills to drive agent commitment and compliance.
- Ability to network effectively and form strong business partnerships across retail channels.
- Analytical thinking to assess outlet performance, identify gaps, and act on field data.
