Role Overview
This position sits at the heart of our commercial operation, where your day-to-day focus is turning inbound interest and existing account relationships into confirmed revenue. You will spend most of your time on the phone, but your impact extends well beyond the call: you will manage the full sales cycle from first conversation to order delivery, working alongside warehouse and finance teams to ensure every promise you make is kept. For someone who thrives on conversation and enjoys the discipline of hitting measurable targets, this role offers the chance to build a genuine book of business while representing a company that values long-term customer trust.
Key Responsibilities
- Make a high volume of outbound calls each day to both warm leads and lapsed accounts, with the aim of converting conversations into concrete orders.
- Proactively identify growth opportunities within your assigned customer base, including reactivating inactive accounts and increasing the frequency and size of repeat purchases.
- Prepare and send accurate quotations within agreed timeframes, then systematically follow up on every open quote until it is either won, lost, or rescheduled.
- Process customer orders in the ERP system, double-checking product codes, pricing, discounts, and delivery details before finalising any transaction.
- Coordinate with the warehouse and dispatch teams to keep order fulfilment on track, and proactively communicate any delivery updates or delays to customers.
- Handle customer complaints professionally, managing returns, exchanges, shortages, and damaged goods in line with company policy and escalating only when necessary.
- Support the collections process by contacting customers with overdue invoices and working with finance to resolve payment queries quickly.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of every interaction, quote, order, and follow-up in the ERP and CRM systems, and contribute to regular sales reporting.
Requirements & Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in sales, marketing, business administration, or a closely related discipline.
- At least two years of proven telesales experience, with a demonstrable record of meeting or exceeding phone-based sales targets.
- Hands-on familiarity with Tally ERP or an equivalent ERP/CRM platform, including order entry, customer record management, and reporting functions.
- Excellent spoken and written communication skills, with the ability to explain product features and technical specifications clearly over the phone.
- Comfortable handling rejection and difficult conversations without losing composure, maintaining professionalism even under pressure.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, allowing you to manage multiple quotations, follow-ups, and customer issues simultaneously.
- A problem-solving mindset focused on identifying what the customer actually needs and finding the most suitable product solution from the available portfolio.
